How to Get the Most from Your Real Estate Investing Business Cards

If you are in business, then you need a business card. I want you to be unique. I used to have one that was printed on both sides that had a picture of me on it. It doesn’t matter who you are, a picture will make them hang onto your card longer than just a generic card. I recently saw a card where an investor had copied part of a $20 on the back of it so when it was laying upside down it looked like it was a folded up $20. This would be very easy to do.

We use million dollar bill business cards. Be different in your business cards. Some people have magnetic business cards, some have fluorescent colors, but the point is that you want to give them out to everybody. You want to give them out to waitresses, at gas stations to the attendant and other customers, at the store, wherever you are or go. If you have magnetic business cards you can put them on vending machines, gas pumps, anything metal where there are lots of people. This is a great way to get them out in the public. How about every time you go to Home Depot you put some magnetic business cards on the vending machines? Is this a great idea or what? If you have a card, like a million dollar bill business card, you can lay them anywhere and I promise you, they will be gone the next day. We have a restaurant in Lake Wylie where I live and every time I go in, I put down a handful of the million dollar bill business cards. I have gone back the very next day and every one of them will be gone.

The million dollar bills are also good for door openers. I had a house that I was renting and it was down a dead-end street so there was no traffic. I went up to the house on the corner, and knocked on the door and I told the lady I had a house down the street that I was looking to rent; and I had no where to put a sign and if she would allow me to put one of my “for rent” or “rent to own” signs in her yard with an arrow pointing down the street, I would give her a million dollars. So I handed it to her, she looked at it, we both had a good laugh and I went and put the sign in the yard. So, it is also a good door opener. Now I want you to think about how you can take this one idea and personally use it and also take it to the next level. How about when you meet a realtor and you tell them that if they send you a good deal you will give them a million dollars? How about when you go to a restaurant you tell the waitress that you are an investor and if they bring you a deal you will give them a million dollars? There is really no limit to what you can do with this one idea to generate business and to open doors and build instant rapport. How is that for a million dollar idea?

Magnetic Business Cards

How about getting some magnetic business cards? You can put them into a direct mail envelope when you are mailing and the recipient will put them on their refrigerator. You can also give them out and put them anywhere you would normally put a business card or flyer. Here is another unique idea to do with them. Since you will already have a sign on your vehicle saying that you buy houses how about putting about 10 of these magnetic cards on your vehicle so as someone sees your sign in a parking lot they can just come up to the vehicle and grab your card right then and there. This is an awesome idea and it works!

The BIG Business Card!

Here is an idea that I got from a friend who went into a realtor’s office with one of his bandit signs (because he was out of business cards) that says I buy houses. I just took the idea and took it to the next level by actually having signs made that look like a business card. I made them 8x10 so they would fit into an envelope with a cover letter. You will find a sample of the sign and the cover letter we use on the next page. It says you buy houses, has your name, has your phone number and contact information. Then every time you go into either a Building Inspector, a Realtor, another Investor, a Property Management Company or whoever you give them to and tell them to hang it on the wall. That way they will remember you and they will call you before they call anybody else. Plus, all of the other agents and employees in their office will see your hanging business card and you will get even more exposure!
